A look at what it means to belong to the citizenship of heaven. See what God asks of us to become citizens, and what rights and responsibilities we gain as a result.
Six years ago, I celebrated my first 4th of July as an American citizen. My process of citizenship took ten years to complete. I was interviewed, screened, background checked, fingerprinted and photographed. I made countless trips to Seattle and paid large amounts of money just to be able to call this place “Home.” My journey culminated in a very moving moment when I was actually able to say the Pledge of Allegiance as one who belonged. We are going to look at what it means to belong to the citizenship of heaven. We’ll see what God asks of us to become citizens, and what rights and responsibilities we gain as a result.
