The goal of confession is not a change in behavior; it is a complete change of heart. Listeners will be challenged to confess to God and another trusted person.
I'm not sure how to say this in a politically correct way, so I'll just say it. Zacchaeus was short. Vertically challenged. Under-tall. He was also a crook that needed to come clean. In one solitary interaction with Jesus, we see a divine encounter, a tough conviction, a bold confession, an act of wild compensation and a moment of pure salvation. What if God wanted to do that again... with you? In this sermon we continue our journey into Confessions: The Joy and Pain of Coming Clean. We will move beyond talking about confession to acting on confession. I'll go first.
