The Marriage Course
What is the Marriage Course?
The Marriage Course, from the creators of Alpha, gives married couples practical tools to build a strong and healthy marriage. Over the course of eight Mondays, couples will have the chance to discuss important issues often ignored in the rush of daily life.
Topics include learning to communicate effectively, resolving conflict, healing past hurts, recognizing each other s needs and how to make each other feel loved, as well as relationships with parents and in-laws, the importance of good sex, and how to have fun together.
All discussions are private between husband and wife; there is no group work involved at any stage of the course.
Who Is the Marriage Course For?
The Marriage Course is for any married couple who wants a strong and lasting relationship with each other.
It doesn't matter how long you ve been married or what condition your marriage is in. Strong or struggling, your marriage will benefit. Some separated couples have even used the course as a step toward restoration. Whatever the situation, you can t go wrong with the Marriage Course! Coming FALL 2008: The Marriage Preparation Course
The Marriage Preparation Course is for any engaged couple who wants to develop strong foundations for a lasting marriage. Over 6 evenings, couples have the chance to learn practical tools to build a strong marriage and also to discuss important issues about marriage that they have most likely not considered.
Topics covered include:
- The importance of commitment
- How to recognize and appreciate your differences
- The art of communication
- Resolving conflict
- Spending time together
- Nurturing your friendship
- Making each other feel loved
- Developing a good sexual relationship
- The importance of talking together about your goals, values and dreams
The Marriage Preparation Course is for any engaged couple who want to work at having the best possible start to their marriage. It doesn’t matter how long you have been engaged or if you have set a wedding date yet. In addition, many non-engaged couples have taken the course to explore the possibility of getting married to each other and found it to be extremely helpful in their decision-making process.
Although The Marriage Preparation Course is based on Christian principles of marriage, we welcome couples without a church background. You do not need to be getting married in a church to attend and benefit from the course.

MARRIAGE AND FAMILY RETREATS
This is a great chance to get away as a couple or as a family. You will lead your marriage and family towards God, develop great relationships with your spouse and children, and have the opportunity to pursue God personally.
PREENGAGED AND ENGAGED COUPLES
Successful marriages are not an accident. They are the result of mastering basic skills, convictions, and priorities. Look for classes for both pre- engaged and premarital couples.
