Baptism:
The practice of water baptism dates back to biblical times. It’s an outward sign of something that has happened inside. While faith and salvation are inward works that involve the personal dealings of God and our response to them, baptism is an outward way of expressing to others that we have accepted Christ and belong to God.
In some of Jesus’ last words on earth, he commissioned his disciples to “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit...” Each person who has started a relationship with Christ begins the process of obedience and spiritual maturity by being baptized.
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you can declare your faith in him through water baptism.
Baptisms generally take place during our monthly Reunion service at 7:00 PM. A baptism class is held prior to each service. Call 360.733.1337 for details.
Since we believe that baptism is a public statement of a personal decision to follow Christ, we do not practice infant baptism at Christ the King Church. Instead, we would be happy to arrange for your baby’s dedication during one of our services.
If you have a child under the age of thirteen that is interested in baptism and you believe they are ready, please contact our children’s pastor Kim Howland at ext. 248.
Please wear modest clothing that won’t be embarrassing to you when you get wet. Also bring a towel and a change of dry clothes.
