What is Awana?

Awana is fun!

And while they’re having fun, they’re learning and growing. Awana club meetings are jam-packed with life-changing experiences. The clubs are run by trained leaders with a live for the Lord Jesus Christ and a desire to help young people. The club materials are filled with verses from the Bible and guidelines to help kids memorize and understand them.

Awana teaches kids

That God is real, that He loves them and that He has expressed that love through Jesus Christ. Kids also learn how God can help them in their daily lives. Lessons from the Bible teach them how to honor God. The goal of Awana is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. This is the end result, but the method is FUN!

Awana is a proven way for churches to provide training in leadership and bring the message of salvation to their communities.

Awana’s three segments provide

Start-to-finish adventure in every meeting. Each segment has its own purpose, but all of them are FUN.

• Game Time
Individual and team competition takes place through circle games exclusive to Awana and playground favorites. Every kid gets involved every night and has a chance to unleash his or her energy.

• Handbook Time
Kids work one-one with a trained leader to complete assignments in the curriculum materials. Awana emphasizes memorization and understanding of key Bible verses that show how to know God and walk with Him. A series of awards and trophies reward achievements at every level as kids progress

• Council Time
Everyone gathers together for singing, announcements, award distribution and, most importantly, a practical Bible message.

Adopt-A-Club

Adopt-A-Club provides opportunities for children in our AWANA program to help kids around the world attend an Awana club. Awana is an international organization with clubs all over the world, and through the quarters and dollars that clubbers raise, children scholarships are given to children in countries where they otherwise would not be able to afford to attend club.

This year, all funds raised through the Adopt-A-Club program at CTK Bellingham Awana will go towards helping a club in Nairobi, Kenya, get started. This club will give children in the slums and on the street a chance to go to Awana and learn about the love and salvation of God through Jesus Christ.
