I grew up in Beaumont, Texas, found Jesus there as a young boy, and stayed there for my college years, gaining a Chemical Engineering degree from Lamar University. In 1974 I married Lynnette and embarked on a 33 year career with a major oil company. We relocated 8 times and raised two boys along the way, both of whom still live in Northwest Ohio. Through these years, I have had some awesome encounters with God, which I am happy to share when asked. We came to CTK in 2003 right after we moved to Bellingham with my job. Answering a “tug” from God, I retired from my career in oil and joined the staff at CTK as Business Administrator in 2007. Lynnette is also on staff as Director of Early Childhood, so most of the kids know me as “Mr. Lynnette.” I am at times overwhelmed at how God is using the CTK community of believers to extend the reach of His kingdom. I find myself in a state of constant excitement and anticipation for “those who are about to come” and join us. Besides helping with day-to-day operations in my staff role, you might find me leading a small group, teaching a class, or helping the technology team. You also might see me wearing the zebra stripes on the football field on Friday nights in the Fall.
