I am excited about my current position as mission’s director for Christ the King Community Church. It gives me the opportunity to focus all my attention on world missions which is my passion. One of my responsibilities is to plan, lead and coordinate mission team trips, both evangelistic, and service-oriented such as building schools, churches and medical clinics as well as feeding the hungry, finding ways to provide clean water, caring for the sick and educating the poor.
I became a Christian in the fall of 1977 when a pastor led me to the Lord at my kitchen table. At that moment I knew that Jesus loved me unconditionally and had a wonderful plan for my life, in spite of the fact that I was a single mom raising four children alone. I was so grateful to have my sins forgiven and have a brand-new, clean, life that I wanted to give something back. In January of 1978, I became that pastor’s volunteer bookkeeper and have served the church in various positions ever since. Next year will be my 30th year in ministry, 20 of them at CTK. During that time, I was a pastoral assistant, janitor, teacher, secretary and bookkeeper, operated church childcare and learning centers as well as directing Children’s Ministry Departments which included Elementary and Early Childhood Ministries, Awana, and Childcare. In my spare time, I was able to be involved in missions. |
