Felix Anderson - Spiritual Life Pastor
p. 360-733-1337 x.237
My mom gave birth to me in the Bronx, New York in 1949. My father was an assistant pastor and my mother played the piano at church. My father was a Baptist, my mother, Assemblies of God. My father was a Republican, my mother was a Democrat. My father was a preacher, my mother was an intercessor. So don’t be surprised what you may hear from me on any given topic.
I was born again at an altar call at Evangel Temple in Washington, D.C. in 1985, after realizing that even though I had been very successful at starting and running my own computer consulting business, I was not qualified to run my own life, and I needed a new owner/operator (Jesus Christ).
My wife Nikki and I have been married since 1985 and have 3 beautiful girls (Tia, Felesha & Lauren), and 3 grandchildren (Alexis, CJ & Christian). We moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Bellingham in the summer of 1990. We became members of Christ the King Church in 1991 at the Laurel campus. I served as a council member, an Elder and a small group leader from 1991 – 1995. We participated in a few church plants and start-up ministries from 1996 – 2001 (i.e., 1st Century Christian Fellowship, Harvest Christian Center and Bellingham Revival Center). During that time (1990 – 2002) I was a full-time secular employee of the City of Bellingham, employed as their Information Technology Department Director. I resigned in the fall, 2002 and came aboard full time at CTK, December 2002.
My deep passion is to see the Body of Christ mature to the fullness of Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-16). I am currently responsible for Spiritual Formation at CTK. That includes Membership, Christianity 101 classes, CORE Curriculum, Prayer/Care pastor, Baptisms, Free Market and business small groups, the After Service Care Team. Marriages and funerals are also part of my schedule.
I earned a B.A. in Economics from Baruch College, CUNY (1975). I attended Prayer Assembly Bible Institute in Phoenix, Arizona (1986-87). I attained a M.A. in Theology from St. Luke Evangelical School of Biblical Studies (2002) through the Internet.
I teach BibleLife classes on Spiritual Warfare and Kingdom Economics and Business Principles each year to help believers, young and old obtain victory on all fronts through prayer, praise and proclamation.
Some of my favorite Bible verses are:
He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ, until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ. Then we will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because someone has told us something different or because someone has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like the truth. Instead, we will hold to the truth in love, becoming more and more in every way like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. Under his direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. (Ephesians 4:11-16 NLT)
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn, with many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And he gave them right standing with himself, and he promised them his glory. (Romans 8:28-30 NLT)
This is what the LORD says: "Let not the wise man gloat in his wisdom, or the mighty man in his might, or the rich man in his riches. Let them boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the LORD who is just and righteous, whose love is unfailing, and that I delight in these things. I, the LORD, have spoken! (Jeremiah 9:23-24 NLT)
