CTK is currently hiring for the following positions:
A Temporary Part-Time (28 hours) Monday –Thursday Receptionist. The position will run from September 27, 2010 until the middle or end of December 2010. The Rate of Pay is $10.00 - $11.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
• Reception
• Answer phones in a professional and courteous manner, answering whenever possible by the third ring;
• Triage and route calls and voicemails according to current protocol
• Greet people as they arrive in a friendly manner and assist them in checking in or getting information they are looking for
• Use PlanCentral to give out accurate, timely information
• Help callers use the CTK website to find the information they need now and may need again later
• Enter all phone and in-person contacts in F1 according to current protocol
• Assist in the process of signing up for classes and events
• Shall lock/unlock front entry doors and turn on/off lights in Commons and hallways.
• Assist people bringing and picking up items for/from ministry staff (“inbox/outbox”)
• Receive Benevolence requests
• Do initial screening of Benevolence requests according to current protocol. For example, verify involvement at CTK and help them complete appropriate forms.
• This includes ministry scholarship applications.
• Stay current on community resources that can be offered to those seeking assistance. Give out correct information and make effective referrals to these other resources as appropriate.
• CTK Office
• Enter and route all weekend response cards; create and mail welcome letters
• Receive and route deliveries and incoming faxes
• Take out and distribute the mail; process returned mail in F1
• Give out and receive things from the safe
• Sell tickets when appropriate; track and route money properly
• Send any necessary All Pages and staff emails
• Route or respond to CTKinfo and reception emails, according to current protocol
• Coordination
• Attend Staff Meetings
• Attend applicable trainings, be an active and effective learner
• Attend other meetings as directed by the Team Lead or a Management Team member
• Other projects as assigned by the Team Lead
• These will fill in gaps in the primary work of Welcome team that is listed above.
• They may include ministry projects, F1 data entry, bulk mailings, and assisting admins with large projects or busy times of the year.
• Skills and Experience
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively in order to meet deadlines and keep up with certain periods of fast-paced work
• Self-starter, initiative, and ability to learn new tasks quickly
• Professional manner and basic phone skills
• Personal boundaries and discernment in order to effectively triage incoming requests
• Basic skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and internet browsing
• Previous experience in an office setting preferred
Part-Time (8 hours) Guest Services Weekend Assistant. The hours are Saturdays 4:30 PM-7:30 PM and Sundays 8:00 AM-1:00 PM
Job responsibilities:
• Set up Connection Point, Welcome Center, Media Center prior to start of services
• Ensure that each of these areas have the needed resources for volunteers to use:
Ministry sign-up forms, first-time guest gifts, registrations forms, bibles, DVDs,
set up of Media Center register, etc.
• Connect and build relationships with weekly volunteers.
• Sincere communication, checking to see if they have what they need, future scheduling needs, etc.
• Find and provide answers to their questions
• Assist with on-going training of volunteers
• Where and how to check-in at Volunteer kiosks
• Provide Volunteer badge
• Demonstrate how to provide the best guest service in their position (tips, correction, etc.)
• Conduct the service count for each service
• Prepare Guest Services Box for Ferndale on Saturday nights
• Provide copies of service CDs
• Copies of sign-up forms for Ferndale Guest Services
• End of weekend wrap up
• Put away all forms and resources from ministry booths
• Shut down Media Center register
• Distribute ministry information to various ministry leaders through staff mail box system
• Provide coverage in the weekend absence of Guest Services Director
• Become main contact for Guest Service volunteers during that weekend
• Qualifications
• Must have a can-do attitude, show flexibility, understand the importance and value
of volunteers
• Understand the importance of great customer service
• Available weekends (can make arrangements for absence for special needs)
• Ability to think on your feet, problem-solver
Part-Time (10-12 hours) Ferndale Worship Director. Hours are Sundays, Tuesday evenings and other hours as TBD by Campus Pastor.
Job Responsibilities:
• Ferndale Worship Service
• Work with the Ferndale Campus Pastor to develop a unique worship experience in Ferndale that shares the overall values and culture of CTK
• Assist in the short- and long-term strategic planning of Ferndale worship ministry
• Craft a weekly worship set that fits with the theme provide by Bellingham Creative Team
• Coordinate with the Bellingham Creative Team as needed
• Use Planning Center Online to ensure accurate services, set lists, and musician assignments for the purposes of service planning and CCLI reporting
•
• Volunteer Oversight
• Oversee all Ferndale worship teams
• Assemble two worship teams that play every other week
• Lead at least one of those worship teams
• Provide excellent communication, follow through and encouragement to current leaders
• Identify, recruit, train and coach all Ferndale musicians
• Be point person for Ferndale musicians in regard to prayer, care, & spiritual nurture
• Help musicians own and carry out the mission of CTK Ferndale
• Other Responsibilities
• Help coordinate, plan and arrange any special music needs in Ferndale (funerals, outreach, etc.)
• Assist with coordination of various missional CTK Ferndale events
• Coordination
• Attend CTK staff meetings, as appropriate
• Attend CTK Ferndale team meetings, as directed by the Campus Pastor
• Attend worship ministry meetings and trainings as applicable
• Expectations

• Work to remove distractions so all can enter into worship
• Work to create an experience that engages believers and intrigues non-believers
• Work to create week-to-week continuity
• Work to make worship an experience that people do not want to miss
• Qualifications
• Advanced vocal and worship leading skills required
• Advanced instrumental skill preferred
• Ability to lead and manage people
• Intermediate administrative skills
